Hop A-Long Zack

We were leaving an appointment the other day when Zack went to hop over a railing and Micah caught his foot.  Before they knew it Zack had landed on the cement and was grabbing his knee.

Needless to say,  today I ended up taking Zack to see the doctor who put him in a cast from his hip to his ankle.  So this is a few pictures I was able to capture of him getting his cast; note that Zack picked a pink cast since that is Kaylab's favorite color.

The larger photo of Zack is him crossing the finish line after completing the 1 mile walk at Buffalo Point Elementary.  WAY TO GO ZACK!

The Moving Crew

Several years ago, Micah placed one of those large decorative rocks in our flowerbed -
and I always knew that I wanted it moved.

Elder Nathaniel Mower's Farwell

Today, Sam, Micah, Kaylab and I made the trip to Vernal, Utah to attend Sam's brothers mission farewell - Nathaniel will be serving in the Washington, DC & Virginia Mission.

It is no secret how much Micah and I love Sam and appreciate having him in our home, so it was a BIG deal for us to come with Sam to Vernal, UT to meet his family.  This was the first time we met his father, David and Step Mom, Susie - We also meet each of his grandparents, Aunts and Uncles, Cousins and they were so sweet to Thank us for taking care of Sam  . .  and of course I found myself thanking them for sharing him with us.  Sam had not seen many of his family member's in a long time and it as a nice surprise to see their reactions when they realized who he was . . . he has changed so much since he left Vernal and it was nice to know that Micah and I have been with him along his journey.

For whatever reasons, Sam has become a part of our life and so has his family.  We love each of them so much and appreciate them for sharing Sam with us.

BIG NEWS to Share!!!!!

We received 'the letter' in the mail a few weeks ago (May 4th) that we had been waiting four weeks to come. . . . it seems like the last few weeks have been full of highs and lows for us, but the best news came today in regards to Sam.

A few weeks ago, well in all honesty - I have felt for the last several months that the best place for Sam would be with Micah and I.  It hit me around Christmas time - just shortly before Chaze left when the four of us (Micah, Sam, Chaze and I) went to see Blindside.  As I was sitting there watching this movie it hit me . .  Sam was my Michael!!!  At one point during the movie I looked over at Micah (balling my eyes out of course) and said to him " I want to take legal guardianship of him!"  And just like in the movie, my ever so patient husband said to me "okay Tanya whatever you say!".

So here we are a few months later . . . .

That's right . . It's Official as of today, Micah and I are now the legal guardians of one 6'2 and 255lb young man named, Sam.

Yip Yip Hurray!
